Install new surface course on high end residential drive
The customer is very detail oriented and Quality focused. Our team was on their A game to deliver a high end driveway resurface and give them products they were happy with and will last years. Customers had several areas where base repair was required. Our estimators worked with them to establish what areas needed to be repaired and patched.
Shelmar Estates Scope included milling out and replacing over 1500 tons of surface course in a congested Trailer Park in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
We had to work and maintain traffic to all residents while performing our milling and paving operations. Very tight and congested side streets. Work with residents to provide street parking locations and coordinate with residents to maintain clear streets from street parking. The project was milled in 2 days and paved in 3 days minimizing disturbance to residents and producing a product that made property owners and residents happy.
Grading existing gravel lot to allow installation of 4-5” of Type 2 Base material. Approx 1500 tons of base was installed over existing gravel.
The project required us to work around and to maintain access to the building as there were 2 tenants occupying the building and operations must continue. With grade of 1% or less in some areas it required extreme attention by the paving crew to prevent major puddles
26,000 SQ Yards of milling with 2,600 Ton of Surface course. Additional is about 1,200’ feet of berming and additional 350 ton of base repair.
This project was very important to maintain communication with the city and management on schedule in order to work around funerals. Work had to stop or be scheduled around Funerals. The project suffered from a bad subbase and required the use of smaller trucks and to then not utilize streets as they were paved. Large trucks were only allowed on streets that were unpaved. Once they were paved we did not drive loaded dump trucks on them due to structural issues. Cleanup was another big issue as we had to maintain clean and drivable surfaces as this cemetery would experience about 100-200 walkers, runners and visitors to the site daily.
